In this update, there aren’t many major changes, but there’s one new feature worth noting.
Solana and Exchanges
Solana has quickly become one of the most traded blockchains today, growing from a lesser-known chain just over a year ago. It’s attracting lots of new users.
Because Solana is a unique blockchain with a special consensus mechanism called Proof-of-History (PoH), its wallets use different formats and private keys compared to other blockchains like Ethereum (EVM). This can make things a bit tricky for web3 wallets.
For the KEYRING PRO Wallet, we allow users to create Solana wallets that are linked to their Ethereum (EVM) wallets. Even though their private keys are different, this link helps organize your accounts.
Simply put, when you exchange ERC-20 tokens from Ethereum to Solana, the new Solana tokens will automatically go into your linked Solana wallet, whether you’ve created a Solana wallet linked with your Ethereum wallet or not.
We’ve received feedback from our users that they often don’t know where their funds are going because they haven’t created a linked Solana wallet. We’ve had to guide them to create a Solana wallet from the provided address, but some users may not have contacted us for assistance.
So, in update 4.1.0, when exchanging tokens from EVM chains to the Solana chain, we’ll require users to enter the receiving Solana wallet address before completing the exchange. This ensures users know exactly which wallet will receive the funds.
This requirement will also apply when exchanging from Solana to EVM chains. Users will need to enter the EVM wallet address before the transaction can proceed.
UI Improvements and Bug Fixes
With the 4.1.0 update, your account balance will now show only two decimal places instead of eight. This makes the user interface cleaner and helps you manage your assets more easily.
Additionally, we’ve fixed minor bugs to ensure the best user experience.
